Britain, North Thames Region. Catuvellauni. Addedomaros. Ca. 45-25 B.C. AV stater (18 mm, 5.55 g). Addedomaros Spiral type. Six-armed wreath spiral, crescents at center / [ADDIIDOM], horse right; above, three horse muzzles; below, cornucopiae. ABC 2517; Van Arsdell 1620; BMC 2396-404; SCBC 201. Lightly toned. Very fine / good very fine.

From the KJG Collection of British Celtic Coins. Ex Liz's List 76 (April 2015), 33. J. Humley Collection .

The Catuvellauni ('men excelling in battle') were the most powerful tribe in late Iron Age Britain, and Addedomaros was one of their most powerful kings. He was the first ruler north of the Thames to include his name on his coinage, which suggests to some that he may have been literate in Latin and Greek.
