Philip II. As Caesar, A.D. 244-247. AR antoninianus (25 mm, 3.64 g, 6 h). Rome, under Philip I, A.D. 246. M IVL PHILIPPVS CAES, radiate and draped bust of Philip II right / PRINCIPI IVVENT, prince standing facing, head left, holding globe and inverted spear. Cf. RIC 218d var. (also cuirassed); cf. RSC 48 (same). Lightly toned with underlying luster. Well centered on a nice, full flan. Choice extremely fine.
