TABERISTAN, Khorshid; (115-142 AH). AR Hemidrachm (2.03 gm; 24 mm). Obverse; Sasanian bust to the right, name in Pahlavi in front of face, phrase APD in Pahlavi in the second quarter,large dot next to crescent and star at 12 oclock, Reverse: fire altar with attendants, mint TPURASTN (Tabaristan) on the right, date: 90. The period coincides with reign of 10th Umayyad Khalif Hisham ibn Abd al-Malik, and Abbasids Saffah and Mansur. Album 52. Choice FDC. Lightly toned with some luster.
