SASANIAN KINGS, Bahram (Varhran) I. 273-276 AD. AR Drachm (3.59 gm; 25 mm). Obverse, Bahram's bust turning right with standard Mithraic crown and flowing ribbon behind the crown, symbol of two large dots in binary form behind the head, reverse, fire altar with attendants both wearing Bahram's (or Ardashir I's) crown, two large dots flanking the base of fire altar. Choice aEF. Lightly toned. Extremely rare.
