Description
BYZANTINE EMPIRE, Romanus IV. Diogenes with Eudocia. 1068-1071 AD. AV Hist. Nomisma (4.21 gm; 28 mm). Constantinopole mint. Christ standing facing upon footstool, crowning the Emperor, on right and Empress, on left / Michael VII at center, Constantius on left, and Andronicus on right, all standing facing on dotted exergual line. Sear 1861. Nicely centered. Well struck. Some damage in margin with small hole and impressed grain of sand, presumably from burial. Lustrous with some light toning.
