TABERISTAN, Khorshid. 115-142 AH. AR Hemidrachm (2.03 gm; 25 mm). Obverse; Sasanian bust to the right, name in Pahlavi in front of face, phrase APD in Pahlavi in the second quarter, Reverse: fire altar with attendants, mint “TPURASTN (Tabaristan)” on the right, date: 100. The period coincides with reign of 10th Umayyad Khalif Hisham ibn Abd al-Malik, and Abbasid’s Saffah and Mansur. Album 52. Choice FDC. Lightly toned. Fully lustrous.
