CAESAREA, Cappadocia. Elagabalus, 218-222 AD. Æ 28 (11.52 gm; 28 mm ). dated ΕΤΒ=218-219 AD. Obverse: ΑΥ Κ Μ ΑΥΡ(ΗΛΙ)(ΟϹ) ΑΝΤωΝΕΙΝΟϹ; laureate and draped bust of Elagabalus, right, seen from rear / Reverse: ΜΗΤΡΟΠΟ ΚΑΙϹΑΡΙ, ΝΕΩΚΟΡ, ΕΤ Β; agalma of Mount Argaeus placed on inscribed altar. RPC online 6667 (temporary). Couple of scratches on obverse field on the head and on reverse field, otherwise well struck. Rare and choice VF example. Attractive solid matte black patina. (RYC).
