Lot 218.  Plautilla. Augusta, A.D. 202-205. AR denarius (19 mm, 3.36 g, 1 h). Rome, under Septimius Severus jointly with Caracalla, A.D. 204. PLAVTILLA AVGVSTA, draped bust of Plautilla right / VENVS VICTRIX, Venus standing facing, head left, holding apple and palm branch, resting elbow on shield at her side; at feet to left, Cupid standing left, holding helmet. RIC 369; BMC 429; RSC 25. High relief and nicely toned. Extremely fine.
