PERSIA, Qajar period, Naser al din Shah. 1848-1896 AD. Civic Copper (11.06 gm; 23 mm). Dated 1272 AH, no mint, obverse: “Folus-e raayej-e mamalek-e mahrooseh-e Iran” (copper Currency of provinces under the protection of the empire of Iran), reverse; reclining lion and sun to the left, star on the top. Alaedini 40. Excellent clear strike for type. Nice reddish patina. Choice VF / EF.
