Roman Empire - Gallienus (253 - 268 A.D.) silver antoninianus (3,67 g. 22 mm.) from Lugdunum mint, 259 A.D. VICTORIA GERMANICA. RARE! Rare variety with obverse legend: GALLIENVS AVG GERM V GALLIENVS AVG GERM V. Radiate and cuirassed bust of Gallienus to left, holding spear over his left shoulder and shield. VICTORIA GERMANICA Victory standing right on globe, holding trophy over her left shoulder and wreath in her right hand; two captives flanking globe. RIC 43 (obverse) and RIC 52 (reverse), not in RIC as this one!!! C. 1176a (one example in Dorchester hoard exactly as this one) 3,67 g. 22 mm. Nicely toned and with an elegant bust. Good very fine condition! RARE!
