Description

A large Egyptian terracotta ushabti, Late New Kingdom, c. 1292 - 1075 BC, mummiform, wearing tripartite wig, arms folded across chest, long pointed foot. The implements held in the hands were originally indicated in black paint, traces remain as do some traces of paint remain on the wig. The face is nicely modeled and the entire figure has an Asiatic style, perhaps from the eastern delta. H: 8 5/8” (21.9 cm). Small repair to back of wig. A large and most interesting type! Ex Los Angeles private collection. Value Range $600 - $700.
