ISAAC II. 1185-1195. EL Aspron Trachy (31mm - 4.48 g). Constantinople mint. The Virgin Mary, nimbate, enthroned facing, holding the nimbate head of the infant Christ / Isaac standing facing, holding cruciform scepter and akakia, being crowned by Archangel Michael; three pellets on Isaac's collar. DOC IV 2a; SB 2002. Near EF, well struck, lots of fine hairline cleaning scratches visible with a glass.
