KINGS of MACEDON, Alexander III. Posthumous issue, circa 188-170 BC. AR Tetradrachm (15.98 gm; 34 mm). Mytilene. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion's skin headdress / Zeus seated right, Small head of Zeus right and lyre in r. field, bunch of grapes below throne, ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ in r. field, monogram below throne. Price 1731. Minor pitting. Well struck on a broad medallic flan. Rare variety with lyre and head on reverse. Choice VF. Very rare.
