|Lot 76. Thracian Kingdom. Lysimachos. As King, 306-281 B.C. AR tetradrachm (30 mm, 16.75 g, 11 h). Uncertain mint. Diademed head of the deified Alexander right, with horn of Ammon / ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩ[Σ] ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟ[Υ], Athena seated left, holding Nike and resting elbow on shield set behind her; spear at far side; in inner left field, ME monogram; in exergue, KA(?) monogram. Müller -. Minor die rust in spots. Nice very fine.
Stylistically the portrait is similar to that found at Kalchedon, but the coin appears to be lacking the grain-ear in the exergue which is invariably found on tetradrachms from the mint.
Estimate: US$ 300
