BCD Peloponnesos 838.3 (same dies); Dura 2171. Very rare. Sandy green patina. Good fine.
The Λ-A across the reverse field of this coin is an abbreviation of Λακεδαιμονβων, and refers to Augustus' gift of Thouria to the Spartans in gratitude for their support at Actium and as punishment for the Thourians who had sided with Antony and Cleopatra.
