Lot 126.  Attica, Athens. Ca. 165/4-42 B.C. AR tetradrachm (32 mm, 16.36 g, 12 h). New Style coinage. Ca. 121/20 B.C. Karaich..., Ergokle..., and Apol..., magistrates. Helmeted head of Athena right / A-?E, owl standing right on amphora, head facing; across field, magistrates' names: KA-PAIX, EPΓO-KΛE, and AΠOΛ; in right field, ship's prow; Z (retrograde) on amphora, ΣΩ below; all within laurel wreath. Thompson 531f. Obverse corroded and porous, the reverse well struck. Fine / very fine.
