Lot 218.  Ptolemaic Kingdom. Ptolemy XII Neos Dionysos (Auletes). 80-58 B.C. AR tetradrachm (23 mm, 13.85 g, 12 h). Alexandria, RY 14 (68/7 B.C.). Diademed head of Ptolemy I right, aegis tied at neck / ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΠΤΟΛΕΜΑΙ[Ο]Υ, eagle standing left on thunderbolt; in left field, date (L IΔ); in right field, ΠA. Cf. Svoronos 1861; SNG Copenhagen 384-5. Toned. Nearly very fine.
