Lot 279.  Philip II. As Caesar, A.D. 244-247. AR antoninianus (22 mm, 3.62 g, 12 h). Rome, under Philip I, A.D. 246. M IVL PHILIPPVS CAES, radiate and draped bust of Philip II right / PRINCIPI IVVENT, prince standing facing, head left, holding globe and inverted spear. Cf. RIC 218d var. (also cuirassed); cf. RSC 48 (same). Lightly toned. Nice very fine.
