Description
Parthian Kingdom. Phraates III. 70/69-58/7 B.C. AR drachm (20 mm, 4.01 g, 12 h). Mithradatkart, ca. 63/2-62/1 B.C. Diademed bust of Phraates III facing, wearing necklace with medallion / Archer seated right on throne, holding bow; below bow, monogram. Cf. Sellwood 35.4 (Darius?; legend); Shore 166 corr. (citation to Sellwood); Sunrise 328. Well struck from high relief dies. Nicely centered. Nearly extremely fine.
