CARACALLA. 198-217 AD. AR Antoninianus (21mm - 6.12 g). Rome mint. Struck 217 AD. ANTONINVS PIVS AVG GERM, radiate, draped and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind / P M TR P XX COS IIII P P, Jupiter standing left, holding thunderbolt in right hand, reverse spear in left. RIC IV 285a note; BMCRE 179 note; RSC 375. Choice EF, attractive. Housed in an NGC holder where graded MS. 5/5, fine style. Assuming the weight is correct, this is a massive flan.
