Description
An exceptional Maya polychrome cylinder from El Salvador, c. 400 – 800 AD. This beautiful example is 7-1/2” high, 5-1/2” in diameter and is decorated with a band of zoomorphic head glyphs. A design band similar to guilloche patterns separates the heads from the striped lower half of the chamber. Good mineral deposits and dendrites inside and out. Ex Zelenya estate. Value range: $3000 - $4000
