Description

SASANIAN KINGS. Bahram (Varhram) V. AD. 420-428. AR Drachm (3.71 gm; 29 mm). - reverse, mint NLO (unknown) to the right, and letter KDY (unknown) on the left, the combination of the two phrase as NLO-KDY might be a reference phrases in Pahlavi to not a mint but possibly the phrase N(e)RO (power) and KY (King) "powerfull king". Second group with figure on fire altar. We know that Yazdgird II used the phrase NWKY (Goodness) on the reverse of his coins, it is possible that the tradition started under his father Bahram V to use terms complementary to king and religion. Sunrise 922var. Choice EF. Lightly toned. Extremely rare.
