Seleukid Kingdom. Alexander I Balas. 152/1-145 B.C. AR tetradrachm (29 mm, 16.74 g, 1 h). Antioch on the Orontes, undated issue, ca. 150-146 B.C. Diademed head of Alexander I right / ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ ΘΕΟΠΑΤΟΡΟΣ ΕΥΕΡΓΕΤΟΥ, Zeus seated left, holding Nike and scepter; in exergue, monogram. SC 1781.1b; HGC 9, 875a. Wonderful compact high relief portrait of great style! Extremely fine.
