SELEUKID KINGS, Antiochus III. 223-187 BC. AR Tetradrachm (16.40 gm; 24 mm). Barbarous imitation struck in Ecbatana mint. Not an official issue. Crude type, but quite interesting. Diademed head right / Nude Apollo seated left on omphalos, slight drapery on right thigh, holding arrow in right hand, left hand resting on bow; forepart of a horse and monogram to left. Cf. Newell, WSM 1331 (Seleucia ad Calycadnum); Houghton -; SNG Spaer . Choice Good VF. Toned. Extremely rare.
