1st century A.D. Æ unit (26 mm, 9.88 g). Six-headed Karttikeya standing facing with one hand on hip and the other holding a spear; Brahmi legend (Bhagavato svamino) brahmanya deva(sya kumarasya) around / Goddess Shashthi (consort of Karttikeya) standing facing on a lotus platform; 6-arched hill to left and tree-in-railing to right. Pieper 1113. Rare heavy denomination, struck on a broad flan. Fine.
Karttikeya, the Hindu god of war and son of Lord Shiva, was the chief deity of the Yaudheyas.
