Description
SASANIAN KINGS. Zamasp, 496-498/9 AD. Æ (0.95 gm; 17 mm). Obverse, Zamasp bust turning right, Ahuramazda passing the Xvarrah to Zamasp, standard text behind the head however illegible, reverse, fire altar with attendants in prayer mode, mint "GO/GW" (Gorgan or Qum) on the right, date illegible on the left. Well struck on a nice broad flan. Choice VF / EF. Nice original green patina. Extremely rare in any condition.
