Description
ARAB-SASANIAN, "Gyanbud". Ca. late 7th century AD. Æ Fals (3.44 gm; 22 mm). obverse, Byzantine style imperial figures, blundered letters for Apzun on the left, lillah in between the figures, reverse, attendant for a fire altar to the left, fire altar replaced by phrase or name Gyanbud and another illegible two line of pahalvi legend. SIC Ashmolean - ; Gyselen type 80; Walker, Arab-Sassanian -; Album -. Well struck on a nice full flan. Choice EF. Nice original green and brown patina. Rare.
