Description
PERSIA, Safavid to Qajar period. Agate Seal Ring (0.75 gm; 15mm x 11mm). An extremely well nasta'liq caligraphy in praise of Prphet Mohamad and his cousin and war champion Imam Ali of Shia branch of Islam, the text notes " Khorshid-e deen Mohamad mijost(?) ke Morad har del Alist" meaning "Prophet Mohamad who is the "Sun" of the religion always desired/noted/searched for "Ali (first Shia Imam) who is every hearts desire". Excellent condition.
