Description
KINGS of PARTHIA. Uncertain Usurper, Tiridates. 27 BC. AR Tetradrachm (14.52 gm; 30 mm). Seleukeia on the Tigris mint. Dated 285 SE (27 BC). Diademed bust left, no wart on forehead / Phraates seated left, holding scepter and Nike, who crowns him with wreath; (year) below throne, (month) in exergue. Sellwood 55.4 (Tiridates); Shore -; Callataÿ 79-86; Sunrise 397. Minor graffiti on the obverse field, otherwise well struck. Choice Good VF. Lightly toned.
