INDO-PARTHIANS, Margiana. late 1st century BC. AR Drachm (2.66 gm; 21 mm). Margiana mint. ""Helmeted"" Countermark issue. Imitating countermarked drachms of Parthian king Phraates IV. Diademed and draped bust left; behind, eagle left, holding wreath; on neck, circular "countermark" of helmeted king right / Archer (Arsakes I) seated right on throne, holding bow. Senior 199.2D; Sellwood 91.13; Shore 473; Sunrise 494. Struck on a broad flan. Choice aVF. Toned. Rare.
