Description
ROMAN EMPIRE; Gordian III. 238-244 AD. AR Antoninianus (4.44 gm; 23 mm). Rome, 241-243 AD. IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust to right, seen from behind. Rev. P M TR P V COS II P P, Apollo, bare to waist, seated left, holding branch and resting left elbow on lyre. RIC 89; RSC 261. Sharply struck on a nice flan. Choice AU. Lightly toned. Fully lustrous.
