ROMAN EMPIRE; Philip I, 244-249 AD. AR Antoninianus (3.98 gm; 24 mm). Struck 244-247 AD, Rome Mint. Obverse: bust of the emperor with a radial crown facing right IMP M IVL PHILIPPVS AVG / Reverse: (ROMA AETERNAE - Eternal Rome). Roma seated left, holding Victory and a spear, next to a shield, ROMAE AETERNAE. Sharply struck on a nice flan. Choice AU. Lightly toned. Fully lustrous.
