PERSIA, SAFAVID TO QAJAR ERA, Ca. 17th-18th Century AD. Agate Seal (2.07 gm; 19mm x 15mm x 3mm). Seal with finest Nasta'liq calligraphy writing the Quranic 109 surah known as "Al-Kafirun" (disbelievers). One of the finest examples we have seen a true gem. These beautiful gems were made for high echelon of society from court and military officials and their families to religious leaders and merchants who could afford work of this beauty. Excellent condition.
