SASANIAN KINGS, Bahram (Varhran) V, AD. 420-438. Æ (1.21 gm; 16 mm). Obverse, Bust to the right, monogram of flower Iris in front of face, reverse, fire altar with attendants, no date, mint not legible. Flower Iris is a sacred plant (also known as "Flower of Persia") in the Zoroastrian religion and is seen on coins and rock carvings since the Achaemenid era. Choice Fine / VF. Original find patina.
