Description
ARAB-SASANIAN, Gyselen Type 80. Æ (1.11 gm; 24 mm). Obverse, two figures in tradition of Byzantine coinage of Heraclius showing the ruler and his successor, phrase in Kufic "Lillah" or phrase in Pahlavi " AP(D) between the crowns, swastika to the left followed by illegible pahlavi phrase, reverse, an attendant on the left without fire altar, in place of fire altar Pahlavi phrase "y'nbwt" (Gyanbud), two Pahlvi phrases (not legible) to the right. Gyselen Type 80. Well struck on a broad flan. Nice original patina. Excellent condition for the type. Extremely rare this nice.
