Description
PERSIA; Mozaffarid Dynasty. Shah Shuja ibn Mohammad (759-786 AH). AR heavy dirham (3.61 gm; 24 mm). minted in Shiraz. Obverse, "al-Mu'tadid billah, al-Sultan al-mota',khalad-allah al-molka (seeking support from Allah, the king who all obey, Shah Shuja who resides close to Allah), reverse, Shahadah for Allah and Prophet Mohammad, with name of Rashudin Califs on 4 cardinals. One of the greatest mystic poets of Persia/Iran. Hafiz was a contemporary of Shah Shuja and mentions him many times in his poems. Choice Good VF. Toned.
