SASANIAN KINGS, Valkash, 484-488 AD. AR Drachm (3.94 gm; 28 mm). Standard issue, reverse mint KA (Karzin, Karian or Kashvin (Qazvin)), Kashvin or present day Qazvin was a major military fortification and base built by Shahpur II as a deterrent to possible invasion from Daylaman and south part of Caspian sea to the interior of empire. It became a Capital of Persian Empire at the time of Safavids by Great Shah Tahmasp I and has remained a major city to this day. Choice aEF.
