SASANIAN KINGS; Shahpur I. 240-270 AD. AR Drachm (4.07 gm; 27 mm). Standard issue, no monogram or symbol. Bust right, wearing diadem and mural crown with korymbos decorated with pellets surrounded by ring of pellets / Fire altar; flanked by two attendants wearing diadems (type 3b) and mural crowns. SNS type IIc/1a, style G; Göbl type I/1; Paruck -; Saeedi -; Sunrise 737var. Lovely strike on a nice flan. Minor hairline scratch on the obverse field, otherwise well struck. Choice Superb EF.
