Description
ARAB-SASANIAN; Umar ibn Ubaydallah, year 67 AH. AR Dirhem (4.05 gm; 31 mm). Obverse, Sasanian style bust turning right, name in front of face in Pahlavi, GDH and Apzut behind the crown, phrase "Lillah al-Hamd" on the second quarter with large dots at the beginning and end of the phrase. Reverse, fire altar with attendants, mint; Bish (Bishapur) on the right, year 67 on the left. Choice AU. Lightly toned with some luster. Scarce.
