Description
Arab-Sasanian: 'Ubayd Allah ibn Ziyad, AH 54-63 (AD 673-683), AR SIlver Drachm, 63H Dated, Basra Mint. Bust to right, the full name of the governor in Pahlavi legend; "bism allah", meaning in the name of God on the margin. The usual Sasanian reverse with a fire alter in the centre with two attendants on both sides, Pahlavi legends for date (left) and mint (right). (3.87gm, 33mm) Good Very Fine.
