INDO-PARTHIANS, Tanlis Mardates and Rangodeme. (Mid-late 1st century BC). AR Drachm (3.40 gm; 19 mm). Margiana or Sogdiana. "Helmeted" Countermark issue. Imitating countermarked drachms of Parthian king Phraates IV. Diademed and draped bust left; behind, eagle left, holding wreath; on neck, circular "countermark" of helmeted king right / Archer (Arsakes I) seated right on throne, holding bow. Senior 199.2D; Sellwood 91.13; Shore 473; Sunrise 494. Choice EF. Toned. Rare.
