Description
ARAB-SASANIAN; Abdullah ibn Zubayr (Rival Khalif). Year 56 AH. AR Dirhem (4.15 gm; 31mm). Obverse, Sasanian bust of Khosrau II turning right name “apdwla-i zubiran amīr-i -wurrishnikān” (ʻAbdullah bin Zubayr, Commander of the Believers) in front of face, phrase "Bismillah" on the 2nd quarter, triple dots at 6 o'clock, reverse, mint "DA" (Diarabgird) on the right, year 56 AH, large dot at right of 12 o'clock. Superb and full strike. Extremely rare this nice. Lightly toned. Lustrous.
