Description
TABERISTAN; Khurshid or Khorshid, (115-142 AH). AR Hemidrachm (2.08 gm; 25 mm). Standard issue, year 105. Obverse; Sasanian bust to the right, name in Pahlavi in front of face, phrase APD in Pahlavi in the second quarter. Reverse: fire altar with attendants, mint “TPURSTAN (Tabaristan)” on the right, date year 105. The period coincides with reign of 10th Umayyad Khalif; Hisham ibn Abd al-Malik, and Abbasid’s Saffah and Mansur, Album 52. Choice FDC. Lightly toned. Fully lustrous.
