Description
HEPHTHALITES, Nezak Huns. Shahi Tigin. Circa 710-720 AD. AR Drachm (2.98 gm; 25 mm). Ghazna(?) mint. Crowned bust right; crown topped with tridents / Fire altar with attendants; trident in flames, wheels at sides. Göbl, Hunnen Em. 225; Alram, "Alchon und Nezak zur geschichte der Iranischen Hunnen in Mittelasien," Atti dei Convegni Lincei 127 (1996), 76. Well struck on reverse (usually they come very flat strike on reverse). Choice EF. Lightly toned.
