Description
ARAB-SASANIAN, Umayyad Caliphate. Æ (1.04 gm; 19 mm). Bishapur mint. No date. obverse, Byzantine imitation of two facing busts (similar to "Heraclius and son" type) with legends around, reverse, Crowned Gopatshah "human-headed winged bull" with letter "P" in front of face (possible for dependency of Fasa), phrase "APAT BISHAPUR" (Bishapur may prosper and thrive) on the left. Gyselen 8.2. Nicely centered. Brown patina. Choice Good VF. Rare. Nice example for the issue.
