KIDARITE HUNS, Buddhatala. mid-late 5th century AD. AR drachm (2.86 gm; 29 mm). obverse, portrait turning 1/4 to left, winged crown (imitating Bahram IV) crown, reverse, Fire altar on tiered base, ribbons attached to altar shaft, flanked by two crowned attendants; Buddhami in Brachmi below, Buddhatala (written under the fire altar base on the reverse). Sunrise 1024; Cribb, Kidarites C3; Göbl, Dokumente 18. Some chipping on the edge, otherwise well struck. Choice EF. Nicely toned. Rare.
