Description
LATE SASANIAN to ARAB SASANIAN, "Zuzan", Æ (1.13 gm; 16 mm). Obverse, Sasanian style bust turning right, phrase in Pahlavi possible name "Zuzan" in Eastern Sakastan, reverse, fire altar with attendants, date if any not legible. It is interesting to note that the position of crescent moon and sun/ star on the reverse, has been reversed in comparison with Sasanian convention. Well struck on a broad flan. Choice VF. Reddish patina. Very rare.
