Description
TABERISTAN, Sa'id ibn Da'laj, (754-775 AD). year 126. AR Hemidrachm (2.03 gm; 23 mm). Obverse: Sasanian bust to the right, name Said (Saeed) in Arabic in front of the face, Pahlavi phrase “NYWK”-per Pakzadian) on the 3rd quarter and Pahlavi phrase APD on the second quarter. Reverse; fire altar with attendants, mint TPURSTAN (Tabaristan) on the right, date: 126. The period coincides with reign of 2nd Abbasid Khalif; Al Manusr (754-775 AD). Choice FDC. Lightly toned. Fully lustrous.
