SASANIAN KINGS, Kavad I, first reign, 488-497 AD. AR Hemiobol (0.30 gm; 11 mm). mint "ART" (Ardashir Khurrah). Struck circa AD 458-465. Bust right, wearing mural crown with frontal crescent, korymbos set on crescent, and rear merlon / Fire altar with ribbons; flanked by two attendants; star and crescent flanking flames; illegible inscription on left, ÁUU on right. SNS type IIa/1c(?); Göbl type II/1(?); Paruck -; cf. Saeedi 253. Choice EF. Rare.
