Islamic. Arab-Sasanian: al-Harith b. Abd Allah, governor of al-Basra, 64-65 AH / 683-684 AD, AR Drachm, Dasht Maysan mint. (2.50gm, 28mm), Extremely Rare.
Mints of al-Basra, Dasht Maysan and "SYWKY", known only dated 65. The Pahlavi rendering of this name HARYT-Y APDWLA; is identical to one of two variants used for Khalid b. ' Abd Allah but the coins are readily distinguished by mint, date, and ornaments. The letters R and L are both represented by the same character in Pahlavi.
